Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was installed as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B on Monday, following the resignation of Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association.
Simeon-Okraku stepped down after his election to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football two months ago.
The WAFU B headquarters in Abidjan announced that Gusau, who has led the NFF since September 30, 2022, and previously served as WAFU B’s First Vice President, “enjoys strong support among the zone’s members to bring continuity and dynamism” to the organization.
The appointment comes on the heels of a successful outing for Nigeria’s U20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, who secured bronze medals at the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt on Sunday, earning a spot at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals.
