Chelsea FC etched their name in football history by defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the Uefa Conference League final, becoming the first club to win all five major Uefa club competitions.

The dramatic comeback victory in Wroclaw also ended Spain’s 27-game unbeaten streak in European finals involving Spanish teams, a run unbroken since 2002.

Trailing at halftime after Abde Ezzalzouli’s clinical strike, set up by the masterful Isco, Chelsea faced defeat with 25 minutes remaining. However, Cole Palmer sparked a stunning turnaround, delivering pinpoint crosses to set up goals for Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson. Fernandez headed in Palmer’s inswinging cross, and Jackson bundled home with his chest at the near post five minutes later.

Substitutes Jadon Sancho and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall combined for Chelsea’s third, with Sancho curling a beautiful finish into the net. Moises Caicedo sealed the rout in stoppage time with a deflected 20-yard strike.

Manager Enzo Maresca’s bold decision to field his strongest lineup in the competition this season paid dividends, as Chelsea added the Conference League to their previous triumphs in the Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup, and the now-defunct Cup Winners’ Cup.

The victory cements Chelsea’s place as the first team to complete a clean sweep of Uefa’s major club trophies.
