President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to the nation’s capital, Abuja, following a 13-day stay in Lagos where he engaged in a series of official and ceremonial activities, including the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the celebration of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir festival.
During his time in Lagos, the President hosted a number of prominent personalities from across various sectors — politics, business, traditional institutions, and civil society.
The occasion provided an opportunity for both celebration and reflection on regional integration efforts as well as national development. His presence at the ECOWAS Golden Jubilee underscored Nigeria’s leadership role in promoting economic cooperation and political stability within West Africa.
In addition to his ceremonial duties, President Tinubu took the opportunity to mark his administration’s second anniversary by commissioning several completed projects.
These initiatives, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public services, were unveiled in different parts of Lagos as part of his government’s commitment to visible, people-focused development.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Monday.
He was received by top government officials including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside other senior aides and dignitaries.
Without delay, President Tinubu proceeded from the airport to the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja, where he presided over the inauguration of the newly rehabilitated facility.
The extensive renovation of the ICC was executed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) as part of broader efforts to modernize national infrastructure and enhance the capital city’s capacity to host high-profile events.
President Tinubu’s return marks the continuation of an active governance agenda, with renewed focus on national priorities as his administration enters its third year.
