He also criticized the US for sabotaging diplomatic efforts, saying, “This week, we held talks with the E3/EU when the US decided to blow up that diplomacy”.

During his visit, Araghchi is expected to hold serious consultations with Putin on the recent US airstrikes and potential diplomatic responses. Iran’s Foreign Minister has made it clear that any demand to return to negotiations is “irrelevant”, given the US actions. “The world must not forget that it was the United States which — in the midst of a process to forge a diplomatic outcome — betrayed diplomacy by supporting the genocidal Israeli regime’s launch of an illegal war of aggression on the Iranian nation,” Araghchi said.
