Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi believes his team can use their impressive finish in the Premier League last season as motivation to secure a European spot next season. Marco Silva’s side finished eighth, their best-ever campaign in the English top-flight, but fell short of securing a European berth.

Iwobi expressed his desire for Fulham to play at the highest level, stating, “What we achieved last season should be a stepping stone, a motivation, for us to achieve Europe now. I enjoyed this when I was at Arsenal, and the hunger is still there. We want to play at the highest level now and hopefully, we can get to do this in the new season.”

This drive stems from his experience playing in Europe with Arsenal, where he participated in the 2018/19 Europa League season, scoring in the final against Chelsea.

With European qualification still within reach, Iwobi emphasized the team’s potential, saying, “Of course, it’ll be nice to get into Europe, especially for me, because I’ve played in it before, so I want to do it again. When you see the quality that we have in training every day, and then we’re getting results against big teams in the league who are competing in big competitions, we feel like we can do so as well.”

Fulham currently sits in a position that could potentially lead to European qualification, with their performance this season being crucial in determining their fate. Iwobi’s experience and determination could be key factors in the team’s pursuit of a European spot.
