Seyi Jakande, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Mushin Local Government, Lagos State, has officially launched his campaign. During the flag-off event held on Friday, Jakande called on residents of the LCDA to rally behind his ambition, assuring them of purposeful leadership grounded in development and continuity.

Jakande, who previously served as the Vice Chairman of the council, unveiled his development blueprint anchored on the acronym HEWA, which stands for Health Care Delivery, Education, Works, and Agriculture. He emphasized that these four key sectors would form the foundation of his administration’s developmental efforts if elected.

“Each pillar of the HEWA Agenda is crucial to improving the quality of life for our people. Together, we will champion a holistic and sustainable development strategy,” Jakande declared. “I seek your support, your trust, and ultimately your vote as we pursue a brighter, more prosperous future for our community.”

Speaking on the recent APC primary election, Jakande acknowledged the internal disagreements and grievances that followed the selection process. However, he described these tensions as typical of any political family and expressed confidence that the party would resolve them amicably.

“Elections always come with high expectations. Naturally, not everyone will emerge victorious, but that does not mean we are enemies,” he explained. “No one contests to lose, but only one candidate can emerge. Any dissatisfaction following the primaries is a normal family matter, and like any strong family, we will resolve it through dialogue and unity.”

He further extended an olive branch to his fellow aspirants who contested for the same position, commending their passion and contribution to the political process. He emphasized the importance of unity within the party and pledged to work closely with them regardless of the outcome.

“I appreciate the commitment and energy that my fellow aspirants brought into the race. Their involvement has enriched our democratic journey. Win or lose, we share a common goal of progress for Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye. Should I be elected, I will prioritize collaboration and strengthen our bond as stakeholders in our shared vision,” Jakande said.

Looking ahead, Jakande promised to consolidate and build upon the achievements of the current administration, focusing on improving critical infrastructure, enhancing healthcare services, and promoting environmental sustainability, agriculture, tourism, and cultural heritage.

“As we envision the future, we must carry forward the legacy of transparency, accountability, and service excellence. Our previous accomplishments must not end with this administration; they must serve as a springboard for even greater achievements. Continuity in governance is essential to ensuring long-term benefits for all residents,” he concluded.

Jakande’s remarks struck a tone of inclusivity, optimism, and developmental focus, setting the stage for what he hopes will be a victorious campaign and transformative leadership for the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.
