Swedish club AIK Stockholm has completed the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian midfielder Zadok Yohanna from Kaduna-based Ikon Allah Football Academy.

Yohanna has penned a four-year contract with the club, which will keep him at AIK Stockholm until December 31, 2029. The young midfielder was discovered by AIK Youth Football’s Scout & Recruitment Manager, Herish Sadi, during a scouting trip earlier this year.

According to AIK Football’s Head of Scouting and Recruitment, Fredrik Wisur Hansen, Yohanna is a versatile player who can play on either wing or the ten position.

Hansen highlighted Yohanna’s impressive strengths, including his dribbling, close-range technique, outstanding 1-on-1 ability, and sensitive left foot. “He has an impressive list of strengths, including his dribbling, close-range technique, outstanding 1-on-1 ability and a sensitive left foot. We are very excited to follow his development with us,” Hansen said.

Yohanna expressed his excitement about joining AIK Stockholm, saying, “It is an incredible feeling to sign my first professional contract with such a big club as AIK. I have received a warm welcome from everyone at the club and now I look forward to continuing to develop and contribute on the pitch.” The young midfielder will wear the number 36 jersey for AIK Stockholm.

Yohanna had already been training with AIK’s P19 side for a month before signing the contract. During this period, he featured in a training match for the P19 team against IF Brommapojkarna’s youth side, scoring his first goal for the club in the opening half.

AIK Stockholm is currently third in the league table, just three points behind leaders Mjällby, and also has a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying fixture against either Bruno’s Magpies or Paide Linnameeskond scheduled for July 24 and 31.

Zadok Yohanna’s signing marks a significant coup for AIK Stockholm, with the 18-year-old Nigerian midfielder already impressing in training with the club’s P19 side.

Yohanna’s versatility and technical ability have caught the eye of AIK’s scouting team, particularly Fredrik Wisur Hansen, who praised his impressive dribbling, close-range technique, and outstanding 1-on-1 ability. With a four-year contract on his hands, Yohanna is set to don the number 36 jersey and contribute to AIK’s success in the coming seasons.
