President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, has arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport, Katsina to receive the body of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari on arrival from London.
Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina with the body and family members of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Vice President was in London, where he was directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to accompany the former President’s remains back to Nigeria.
Former President Buhari, who died on Sunday in London, will be buried today (Tuesday) at his home in Daura, Katsina State.
Vice President Shettima’s delegation included Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, who worked to ensure the dignified repatriation of the late former President.

Following the announcement of the former President’s passing in London, Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja on Sunday, under the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to oversee the repatriation of the body to Nigeria.
The President is leading a high-level federal government delegation to the burial ceremony of the late former President. Former President Buhari will be buried today (Tuesday) at his home in Daura, Katsina State.
