Afrobeats sensation Mr Eazi has broken his silence after a year-long absence from the music scene, revealing that his decision to step back was a deliberate move to reset mentally and creatively. Known for his innovative fusion of Afrobeats, highlife, and global pop influences, the award-winning singer and entrepreneur shared personal reflections on social media, assuring fans that he is now recharged and ready to make music again.

In a heartfelt post, Mr Eazi explained that the relentless pace of touring, recording, and managing business ventures had taken a toll on him.
“For years, it was back-to-back hustle—studio sessions, shows, flights, interviews. I love what I do, but I needed to breathe again, to live life outside the spotlight and rediscover why I fell in love with music in the first place,” he wrote.
The Afrobeats star admitted that stepping away felt risky at first, given the fast-moving nature of the global music industry. However, he credited the break for giving him clarity, saying it allowed him to focus on personal growth, relationships, and new creative inspirations.
Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Ajibade, has been one of Africa’s biggest musical exports, with hits such as “Leg Over,” “Pour Me Water,” and “Patek.” His ability to blend African rhythms with international sounds has earned him collaborations with stars like Major Lazer, J Balvin, and Nicki Minaj.
Aside from music, Eazi is known for his business ventures, including his emPawa Africa initiative, which has helped discover and fund young African artists. Sources close to the artist revealed that during his break, he spent significant time in Ghana and London, working behind the scenes on investment projects while reconnecting with family and friends.

While he hasn’t announced a specific comeback date, Mr Eazi teased that he has been recording fresh music during his downtime. Rumors suggest he might drop a new EP later this year, and fans are already speculating about possible collaborations with both Afrobeats and Latin music stars.
The singer also hinted at a return to live performances, writing: “I’ve missed sharing energy with you all. When I come back, it will be worth the wait.”
Eazi’s revelation sparked excitement among his global fanbase, with hashtags like #MrEaziIsBack trending on X (formerly Twitter). Many fans praised him for prioritizing mental health, with one writing: “Thank you for showing that it’s okay to rest. We can’t wait for new music!”
