Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a 35-man provisional squad for Nigeria’s home-based national team, the Super Eagles B, ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The tournament, reserved for players competing in their domestic leagues, will be hosted in August across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

According to a statement released on Friday night by Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the squad includes team captain Junior Nduka and Papa Daniel Mustapha, both seen as key figures in Nigeria’s preparations for the competition.

Notable Inclusions

Promising forward and NPFL 2024/2025 highest goal scorer Anas Yusuf headlines the attacking options, alongside seasoned league performers such as Godwin Obaje, Adamu Abubakar, and Sunday Megwo.

First-choice goalkeeper Henry Ani leads the goalkeeping unit, with Kayode Bankole, Nurudeen Badmus, Lawal Mustapha, and Ebenezer Harcourt also selected.

In defence, players such as Waliu Ojewole, Stephen Manyo Egbe, Kabiru Mohammed, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, and Uzondu Harrison have been called up, reinforcing a backline built around local league regulars.

Midfielders Haddi Haruna, Saviour Isaac, and Adam Aminu bring depth and versatility to the squad, which also includes Atule Joseph, Temitope Vincent, and Sikiru Alimi in attack.

Group Stage Challenge

Nigeria, runners-up at CHAN 2018, have been drawn into Group D alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo in the 19-nation tournament.

The Super Eagles B are scheduled to play Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium on Zanzibar Island, before wrapping up their group campaign against Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

All invited players are expected to report to camp on Monday at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State. The NFF has instructed players to arrive with their international passports and valid club licenses.
